Young and talented Tina Philip, who rose to fame with Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee, recently stepped into the shoes of Bhumika Gurung to play the role of Meera in Star Bharat’s show Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2. Talking about her new journey, Tina says, “I am privileged to be a part of such a great show along with an amazing cast. I have just completed 4 years in the industry and everyone here has been in the industry for a long time now. I have so much to learn from them. I am working with the Director’s Kut Production house, so that is like a cherry on the cake.”
So you have replaced an established character, how will you make it stand out? Tina shares, “I will do my best to justify the character of Meera. I have to speak in a desi accent and I come from Manchester (UK). It is quite challenging. However, I always look forward to growing as an actor hence this is a great opportunity. I take this character as new work and don’t see it as a replacement. Bhumika did a great job and I just hope I to do justice to it.”
Commenting about the main challenge, she adds, “The main preparation is acing the dialect which is the most difficult part of the show. For my first show, I took a Hindi lesson as it was all over the place. Now, I am taking lessons from my house help. She is from UP hence I talk to her in her language and she has become my trainer.”
Will your character have a grey shade? “As of now, it is a positive role. Anything can happen on TV so you never know. Having said that, I am open to playing both shades, positive or negative.”
“I just want fans to accept me in this role. I want to thank the production team and channel for the opportunity. I am blessed to be working during these challenging times,” ends Tina.
Good luck girl!
