Today, re-runs seem to be the order of the day - Pooja Banerjee

First, we had written about AltBalaiji/ Zee5 airing its web series, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain, on

Zee TV, which has Pooja playing the daughter of Ronit Roy, who falls out of love after years of marriage.

Now we have news that Star Bharat is also re-running Life OK show The Adventures of Hatim, which had Pooja in the lead. This Arabian nights fantasy had Rajbir Singh playing the title do-gooder prince.

Pooja says, “I am thrilled, Hatim was my most robust show in terms of display of physicality, running around and sword fights. Also, I am happy to be part of a never seen before scenario where reruns seem to be the order of the day, as the production of new content is off the table due to coronavirus.”

When we ask about the level of CG, she says, “Agreed, today technology has grown manifold. But then what we had shown back in 2013 was quite good for that time. Times change eg, when Ramayana started; it’s then cutting edge special edge effects, today might be called dated.”

Pooja did not jell with anyone on The Adventures of Hatim set sans the director (Neeraj Balyan) and producer (Nikhil Sinha) as, “having episodic stories, most of the cast changed every week. And I was also busy cramming for my Masters.”

In closing, when we ask about the meager numbers of Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain on TV, she says, “It is too early, also most don’t know about the show coming on air. These types of mature concepts get better with word of mouth. It would also be wrong to compare our rerun numbers with Ramayan or Mahabharat as the whole world has already seen them before and has a connection, while Kehne Ko Humsafar was prior available on only on a digital app.
