How does it feel to be a father now? Tell us about your family’s excitement.
It is an amazing feeling to be a father. The family is over the moon, and they’re very excited. Everything is good, touchwood.
Tejas Deshmukh is a character that simply cannot be ignored. What are your thoughts on the audience’s response to him?
I’m happy that people like Tejas Deshmukh. It’s a compliment to me as an actor and the character. I am glad I have been able to live up to expectations. Tejas is such a unique and twisted character—not entirely positive, grey, or dark, but a mix of many layers. He’s innocently cunningly weird, and that’s what makes him so lovable.
How has your journey playing Tejas Deshmukh been so far?
The journey has been beautiful. I am learning something new every day as Tejas, and it’s been an absolute joy to portray him. Playing a lighthearted and funny character is a refreshing change for me, and I am loving every bit of it.
What do you love most about Tejas as a character?
What I love most about Tejas is his many layers. He’s innocent, cunning, and weird all at once. It’s amazing to explore a character so different from who I am in real life. When people meet me off-screen, they are often surprised by how different I am from Tejas, and that’s the best compliment I could ask for.
What are your biggest takeaways from portraying this role?
Everything I do as Tejas is new to me, and that’s been the most exciting part. My biggest takeaway is the realization that I can pull off a character so different from myself and still connect with the audience.
Udne Ki Aasha has been an absolute joy to watch. What according to you makes it stand out from other television shows?
Udne Ki Aasha is so relatable because it showcases everyday situations in a family setting. It’s a perfect blend of humour, emotions, and fun. The ensemble cast is another standout feature—each character has a significant part to play, which makes the show unique and loved by the audience.
The chemistry between Sachin and Tejas is often compared to Tom and Jerry. What makes these scenes so lively and enjoyable to watch?
The chemistry between Sachin and Tejas is like Tom and Jerry—always fun and engaging. I love working with Kanwar Dhillon because acting and performance are all about give-and-take. He’s an incredible co-actor who brings so much energy to our scenes, making them lively and memorable.
The show is known for its wonderful characterization, even for supporting cast members. How satisfied are you with this aspect?
I am very happy and satisfied with the way every character in the show has been crafted. It’s inspiring to see an ensemble cast where each actor gets a meaningful role. I hope this sets a trend where actors, even in parallel or negative roles, get substantial parts to play.

Yes, this show has been the biggest milestone in my career so far. The positivity of everyone involved—the director, producer, cast, and crew—has been instrumental in making it a success. I believe the show has a long way to go and will continue to make a big impact on television.
What kind of roles would you like to attempt next, given the diversity of characters you have already portrayed?
Right now, I am happy playing Tejas Deshmukh, and I haven’t thought much about the future. I enjoy living in the present and going with the flow. That said, I would love to continue doing diverse roles that challenge me as an actor and show my versatility.
