Sudhanshu Pandey who is presently winning hearts as well as accolades for his complex lead role of Vanraj Shah in Rajan Shahi and Star Plus’ numero uno show, Anupamaa feels that God has been very kind towards him.
Says Sudhanshu, “I can very confidently say that this role of Vanraj Shah in Anupamaa is by far the most difficult character I have essayed. This is a role where I need to walk on a thin line. This is a daily soap that has come as a blessing for me. The show on the whole has changed the trend of the entire industry. Anupamaa has come like a breath of fresh air.”
Talking about the richness in the concept, Sudhanshu states, “Anupamaa has strong content. My character of Vanraj Shah is so complex that the layers in it keep changing with every new week. When I reach the set every day, I need to remind myself that I am walking on a very thin line. You cannot term Vanraj as positive or negative. His behavior keeps changing according to the happenings around him and his close ones. Just recently, Vanraj met with an accident and viewers got to see a different shade of his. However, Vanraj cannot be kept all goody for a long time (smiles).”
Talking about his forte as an actor, Sudhanshu explains, “I am not an actor who goes by a method acting. I am more of an instinctive actor who understands the scenes given and goes with the flow.”
“In totality, Vanraj’s actions have always given a sympathy wave for Anupamaa. There are instances where he has been hated for whatever he does to her. But there is also a strong wave of AnuRaj fondness in the masses. I am happy for that.”
“I believe in this saying as far as Anupamaa and Vanraj’s life goes – Teer ko nishaane pe maarne ke liye uske kamaan ko peeche keechke maarna padta hai. This is what is going to happen with regard to Anupamaa and Vanraj’s lives. For them to understand each other or probably get together at some point in time (which may come or may not), they have to hit against each other in a huge way. I believe this will be the track ahead for Anupamaa and Vanraj, now that he is back to playing gimmicks with Anupamaa.”
“As of now, we are happy that the show is doing well. We are looking forward to the next big phases in Anupamaa.”
