There is more variety in a negative character than a positive one: Pooja Singh

Pretty Pooja Singh, who enthralled audience as Imli in Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum, says that grey shaded characters have more dimensions and challenges. She is now part of Colors’ Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki (Rashmi Sharma Productions), wherein she has replaced Garima Jain.

She shares, “This is the first time I am doing a negative character. Playing a positive character always does not give you the push as an actor. I feel grey shade has more dimensions and challenges. There is more variety in a negative character than a positive one. Whenever I take up any show, I see whether it is challenging or not and also better than my previous role.”

Talking about the same, she says, “I am very comfortable and everyone has accepted me. I am trying to put in my inputs to the character. I think the character is yet to be explored so I am trying to do the same. I will be giving myself two months time as I want to see how I am getting presented on-screen. Right now, the character is revolving around Harman-Jasleen and Saumya, so I understand the creative decision. I am not expecting too much on my track. I hope that the way I won hearts in my earlier show, I manage to do the same with this character too.”

When asked how she is juggling between her personal and professional life, she avers, “My husband is in Toronto. It is a long distance marriage. He visits me frequently. Whenever, he is here, we spend a lot of time. I feel out of the world. Hence, there is not much of juggling.”

Best of luck, Pooja!!
