Mohit Malik, the lead of Star Plus’ popular show Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala (Gul Khan and Nilanjana Purkayasstha) is happy and excited to finally shoot for the phase wherein Sikandar will get to know of Kullfi (Aakriti Sharma) being his daughter.
Says Mohit, “It’s been one year and more than 200 episodes of Kullfi. We have taken the story very well and have been getting good ratings. I am very happy the way the story has been branched out so far. And now, we arrive at the big moment. Even I wanted this phase to come quickly. And yes, it is happening now. I feel this big twist in the story line is happening at the right time. You cannot go further now without touching this phase. Once Sikandar gets to know of Kullfi being his daughter, the story will actually start (smiles).”
Ask him what viewers can expect now and he is quick to say, “Sikandar is a very sensitive character; he is very vulnerable. He will certainly be relieved to understand that there is someone in his life. He has been very lonely and when he will get to know of Kullfi being his daughter, the feeling will be very different. So yes, viewers can expect lot of happiness in Sikandar and Kullfi’s lives. All the mess and miserable life he is going through will change. Things will happen for the better. The creative think-tank must have decided on a very good story ahead. I am yet to figure how I will shoot for this big sequence. I think I will go with the flow.”
Mohit feels that the character of Sikandar has been into an emotional rollercoaster from the start. “He is a tortured soul. And it is very difficult to play such a character on Indian television. He is a very good person by soul. If you ask me about the difference in Sikandar and Lovely, I will say that Sikandar does not have ego and Lovely is full of that. What connects Sikandar and Kullfi is this factor. They are very soulful and will never use their minds. And they are made to cry a lot by situations and people around them.”
Mohit is personally very excited to shoot for this big sequence. “We know viewers are very excited for this phase. They have been waiting for it for a long time. So yes, they are getting what they wanted to see.”
Lastly, Mohit hopes, “I hope Sikandar gets to smile and laugh a lot now.”
