Karan Sharma is portraying the role of Vivaan Oswal with all finesse in Colors’ popular show Sasural Simar Ka 2. The character has seen a lot of variations in quick time, and Karan is thriving in every new phase the character encounters.
In a candid chat with IWMBuzz.com, Karan talks about his role and journey with Sasural Simar Ka 2.
Excerpts:
How challenging has the character of Vivaan Oswal been?
Vivaan’s character is one of the challenging characters for me. I have not played so much variation in one character. Vivaan is a romantic boy, mature too, a mama’s boy. He is a simple guy if you look at him, who carries a lot of emotions as well as patience. He looks carefree from the exterior but is a very rooted family man.
Vivaan has shown a lot of variations. How did you prepare and execute them?
Every phase in him has been challenging. Vivaan faced a lot of different situations. He is a person who stands up against the wrong, even if it means going against his family. For Vivaan, his brother Aarav is everything and he will never go against him. The transformation in Vivaan from being a sober and kind guy to getting aggressive for love was huge for me. I had to put in a complete change in character. I am happy that viewers accepted the change.
What is the best aspect of Vivaan Oswal?
Vivaan is more or less like me. From heart, he is a very simple guy. But since he has grown up abroad, he is carefree in personality. After looking at this trait of Vivaan, I too felt I can take things easy at times. I got to understand that if we go with the flow, we can get a solution to everything.
What does future hold for Vivaan and Reema?
Presently, Vivaan still loves Reema, but somewhere he is hurt. He is not able to decide what to do right now. He feels Reema has cheated him. Having said this, if things go wrong with her, Vivaan will be the first person to stand up for her. Yes, fans are looking forward to Reema and Vivaan’s union. Reema now wants Vivaan back in her life. Hopefully, the day should come soon when viewers will get to see them together.
Is it motivating for the team of Sasural Simar Ka 2 to see the rise in ratings now?
We have all worked hard on the show. Every day has been a learning curve us. With the TRP increasing, we are happy. We believe we have good chemistry going between the leads. That is working for us.
How is it to shoot with Radhika, Tanya and Avinash?
Shooting with Radhika, Avinash and Tanya is like being with family. When we are shooting together, we are more relaxed at work. We understand each other and help each other with dialogues. We also work on our lines and see where we can improve things to get a scene perfect.
How satisfying is this role of Vivaan for you?
This has to be one of the best roles of my life. The kind of love I am getting from fans is overwhelming. It feels great when viewers call me by my character name. We are in a social media age, and when followers increase there, we do understand that we are being liked for our work (smiles). The feeling is good overall. The feedback comes so quickly and you know whether you stand right or not.
Is there any dream role in mind?
I would want to do a detective role in a thriller genre project. I want to portray a stylish character like Shah Rukh Khan’s in the film Badshah. It needs to be comical with an element of action and thrill in it.
Your message to fans
Thank you so much for all the love. I love you all. I know that you try to connect to me. I might not be able to give time to all of you, but please understand that I love you all.
