I want to do serious avatars – Samridh Bawa

Samridh Bawa last seen in Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman is all set to return to work.

Says Samridh about his plans for return, “The above Colors show nearly ran for a year; hence I needed time to recharge my batteries. Now I am hoping to pick up a romantic and more rough and rugged character (Rambo Rajkumar). I had slightly experimented with the latter in The Buddy Project, but that was more in the comic zone. Now I want more serious avatars.”

Samridh has been lucky to have different characters over the years (debuted in 2010 with Get Gorgeous). “My game really changed with Mere Rang Mein Rangne Waali which catapulted me in the lead bracket. I am equally proud of my outings in my earlier shows such as Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, and Swim Team etc.”

He adds on, “I am quite happy with my journey so far, having achieved much more than what I had anticipated. Agreed, life is a struggle but it is fine as I have willingly signed up for this job, I will really need to start looking out for better options apart from a few short listed calls.”

Coming to Swabhimaan, Samridh says, This Rajshri Production got me a lot of name and fame. Agreed the abrupt end in September last was a dampener, but all said and done I am quite satisfied, for I made quite a few good friends on this set as well. I don’t have many industry buddies preferring to hang out with my corporate gangs.”

Unlike many male actors, Samridh does not grudge the female dominated TV structure. “This is the way it is. Lives of male TV characters revolve around the women of the show which is the opposite toreal life (quite a loaded statement). Having said that men do get juicy roles for we play an important role in the romance and drama in the heroine’s life.”

Looking ahead apart from TV, Samridh would also be game for interesting web series, “If some kickass script comes along why not.! Digital is opening up new vistas not only for us actors in terms of work, but even audiences get to check out content beyond the pale of the tried and tested.”

Samridh, we wish you come back with a bang in this New Year!!
