Tanya Sharma who is popular for her role of Meera Modi in Saath Nibhana Saathiya has bagged her third new generation lead role with Udaan. She was also see in Woh Apna Sa.
The talented young girl will shoulder the responsibility of taking the story forward along with Meera Deosthale and the new male lead, Gaurav Sareen.
Says Tanya, “I was so anxious about my initial episodes. And thankfully, I have not got any negative feedback. Fingers crossed, as we wait for Thursday’s ratings. We don’t want our TRP to decrease, we either need to sustain or take it up.”
Tanya accepts with whole heart that she is under severe pressure after taking up this role. “I won’t say there is no pressure on me. There is a lot of pressure on me and Meera. While she needs to prove herself as mother, I need to fit into the lead’s role. It is difficult for me and I understand that. This show has been running for five years and is very successful. But I am confident that with time, and with patience shown by people, I will make my mark.”
Talking about Anjor, she states, “There is a faint similarity with Meera and Anjor, with respect to the girl hating her mother for some other reason. While Meera’s mom in Saathiya had left her without giving an explanation, Anjor has seen her mother having betrayed her. So Anjor has grown up to be a girl who simply hates love. She has turned stone-hearted.”
On the love interest in Anjor’s life, Tanya avers, “Sameer played by Gaurav Sareen has been in love with her from childhood. But for Anjor, love does not exist. It will go on like this for quite sometime, as it will be tough for her to remove this feeling of hatred developed in her.”
“Anjor has a great arc. People will notice it when they start watching. From being a character like Poo (Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham) to becoming a responsible person doing things for the society, Anjor will grow on. All of us know that Udaan is not a family drama. It has a strong social subject. Udaan is all about freedom. And the track ahead will see the new characters getting established, post which Chakor will get Anjor on the right path in the right way. And from then, it will be the journey of Anjor and her family,” adds Tanya.
Tanya always looks at the positive side of things and does not like to get into too much of negativity. However, the recent bashing on social media has made her bit upset. “True that I got upset. But I was explained that the viewers are so much used to seeing their popular Jodi in the show. I understand all that. And now, I have decided to sideline all the unnecessary negativity and concentrate on my work. I want to give it everything. I only request my well-wishers and Udaan lovers to give us a chance to perform and do our best.”
Well-said, Tanya!! Wish you best of luck.
