Young beauty Pranali Rathod, who enthralled audiences as Saudamini in Colors show Barrister Babu, is currently seen as one of the leads Radha in Sony TV’s show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye.
Set in 1947, Lahore, pre-partition India, Kyun Uthe Dil Chod Aaye narrates the story of three young girls – Amrit, Vashma and Radha and brings to light their dreams, hope, aspirations and newfound love… all this at the brink of Independence.
Talking about the show, Pranali says, “The era is what made me excited. Everyone knew about the partition and how it happened, but not many people can understand the pain of families who were going through the process of the partition. Hence o by this show, we will show how families were affected. If we compare in 1947 we had more joint families but now in 2021, we get to see more nuclear families. The warmth of joint family is what I am experiencing and enjoying via this show.”
Pranali had to learn a few things to get into the skin of the character, she says, “I don’t have any similarities with my character Radha. She is very innocent wherein Pranali is just 7% of what Radha is. I had to learn kartab (balancing act on a slackline) for the show which was the most difficult part but I enjoyed learning it.”
On an end note, Pranali considers her co-stars as her family and mentions, “We all bonded on the very first day, we have fun on the sets, we eat together, all the actors are very warm and kind but of course how can I forget my roommate Anchal (Vashma), she is my BFF now.”
We wish you good luck Pranali!
