Priyanka Choudhary has proved to be the shining armour in the cast of Colors’ hit show Udaariyaan. From nowhere, Priyanka has emerged as the star and is taking everyone by storm with her appealing grace and wonderful acting. As a simple-hearted and pure soul, Tejo has every attribute in her that makes her an adorable daughter, sister and wife. But alas!! Tejo stands defeated as of now, with her sister Jasmine (Isha Malviya) openly scheming against her, and her husband Fateh (Ankit Gupta) having betrayed her for her sister. And how well has Priyanka portrayed the role of Tejo!!
The recent few weeks have seen the rating of Dreamiyata Entertainment’s Udaariyaan soaring up, owing to the dramatic high points that happened.
We at IWMBuzz.com got in touch with Priyanka on the journey that she has had playing Tejo.
Excerpts:
This has been a huge phase for Tejo, and her life has changed so quickly. Take us through the tough moments you faced as an actor during this transformation?
I think it’s something that no one even will ever imagine going through in real life. Tejo as a person has been caught into too many things at the same time. She had to find the right balance of emotion between her sisterly love for Jasmine, and her growing fondness for Fateh. Also, she had to stand up for herself, and all of it was quite challenging for me. However, it was a lot of fun. By doing so, I have got to explore new sides to Tejo and have felt differently based on how Tejo feels with every passing day.
FaTejo fans have praised you for your superlative performance in the revelation week and have said it has been a week full of Tejo being in action. How do you see the revelation week’s importance in the story?
I think Tejo was the worst hit of them all. Hence, eventually, it turned out to be the central point. She is someone everyone looks for support. Hence when such a thing happened with her, it shook the entire family. When the spine gets hurt, the whole body can feel it!
How elated are you with the TRP touching 2.7?
Over the moon! People said we couldn’t achieve this TRP with the time slot we have. They said we couldn’t achieve it because we had relatively new actors. They said all kinds of things.
Now with each passing week, I just smile and listen to how people have just forgotten everything and are connected to the story and the characters in it.
Which phase in the storyline do you like the most, the happy Tejo or the sad one now?
There is no happy Tejo without the sad one. I think that’s what makes her real and lovable. She has all the normal emotions a girl has.
How do you deal with the fan clubs of FaTejo and JasFa? You cannot make both the fan groups happy at the same time?
Well, you can support a Sachin or a Ganguly, but as long as they love India, I’m all good!
Banter is always good. It proves that people connect with us. Whatever we do, we can’t make them all happy, but we surely can keep them all entertained!
Your message to all your fans will be….
As I always say, thanks for all the love and support. But I swear to God, picture ABHI BHI baaki hai mere dost!
So keep watching and keep loving!
