What is the significance of International Men’s Day to you?

It is like every other day where we need to honour the life we are blessed with and not have a bias towards any gender. I believe in equality.

Talking about television, most of the projects on TV are women-oriented. Mangal Lakshmi is one such show which shows the empowering journey of Mangal from being nothing in life. How do you see Adit in the frame of things from your perspective?

Adit is the cause of conflict in the show and the reason Mangal goes through a journey- of seeking validation to being on her own. Adit is not a great husband but as a character, he is just someone who is in an arrangement he never wanted. He is flawed but then, everyone is.

Do you think TV should provide more scope for male-oriented subjects?

Different channels have different target audiences. There are cop dramas and crime shows that are making a comeback and even romance shows always have equal scope for heroes and heroines. Ours is a social, so it is a more female-led narrative.

How eager are you to get a male-centric role in any medium? If so, what is your dream role?

I would love to lap it up and the medium does not matter. The character and its significance to the story do matter. I would love to do a cop drama or even a comedy if it is male-led.

Do you think there are situations in which men are deprived of what they deserve? Anything that you have experienced/ seen/ heard?

Thus far I have had a great experience and I am very grateful for the work I have got.

What is your message to your fellow colleagues (men) from your entertainment fraternity?

Apna time aayega!
