Wellness is about internal and physical well being: Uppekha Jain

Times have changed and with each passing moment, life is taking a swift turn, edging ahead on wheels of ambition and competition, sketching a fast paced lifestyle.

Being balanced and calm & composed, taking note of one’s mental and physical health is of paramount importance. To lead a happy & healthy life has become the very pivot of existence.

“One needs to take care of one’s health and lead a healthy lifestyle. My mantra has always been to be healthy in your mind, body and spirit. As long as this trinity is being taken care of, life will be smooth and easy,” says Uppekha Jain, popular TV star and wellness enthusiast. She wowed one & all with her impeccable performance in Saath Nibhana Saathiya on Star Plus.

So what comes to her mind when we say the word Health Culture? “It’s a nice term actually. For me, it means the culture of being healthy. It’s the commitment to live a healthy life.”

Well said…talking about her Health Culture ritual, she shares, “I ensure that I drink a lot of water, at least 2 litres a day. I avoid eating any large meal post 8pm. I follow the age old adage, ‘eat breakfast like a king, have lunch like a princess and dinner like a pauper’. Sadly, in India we do the opposite and often it leads to belly fat. So, we need to take care of our eating habits, while working out on a daily basis.”

She continues, “Since my earlier days, I have always been very conscious on what to eat and what not to. I have never been fond of fried food, and I love eating fresh vegetables, salads. It’s now become a part of my life.”

Beautiful and gracious, Uppekha is of the opinion that ‘fitness’ doesn’t necessarily mean being fixated to hit the gym. She feels one can resort to other ways to ensure that body gets the necessary work out.

“Fitness is a combination of eating right and working out. I would like to tell my fans that if you don’t like to go to the gym, then take up some sports. Go dancing, running, swimming, climb stairs, park your car far so that you can walk up to it…there are many ways which help you sweat it out and get your body working. Wellness is about internal and physical well being.”

Furthermore, Uppekha is an absolute believer of preventive healthcare: “Prevention is always better than cure, there is no doubt about it. Why even get to a point where you need to care a disease when you can prevent it? First, it is about having your mind sane and clear, then take care of your body regularly. Body & mind in sync and healthy is bliss and happiness.”

The gracious lady recently visited Mumbai’s premium medical spa Health Culture, and enjoyed its refreshing Oxygen Therapy.

“Oh, I loved it. It was very relaxing. One needs to do it on a regular basis, specially for people in Mumbai where getting clean air is a problem. It helps you rejuvenate your body and mind, and helps you look younger. I would like to recommend it for all.”

Well, Uppekha is an absolute diva and her take on life and health is laudable.
