Namit Khanna is looking forward to his main lead role in Star Plus show Sanjivani produced by Siddharth Malhotra’s banner Alchemy Films.
Says Namit, “I would not want to say anything till the makers (Cinevistaas Limited) and channel talk about it. But yes things are proceeding well for the moment, so touch wood.”
When asked about the medical thriller genre, this good looking dude who also was a part of Twisted web series says, “It has done superbly all the world e.g Grey Anatomy. I personally like the drama unfolding in a hospital. Also they offer a break from the normal TV template.”
But since previous desi stand- alone medical dramas had tanked, so will your show be more romance heavy as Sanjivani was? “ Well the creative know better what works and why. Rest assured it will have a mix of everything to keep all types of audience hooked on from day one.”
“Yes the first season was a huge hit, so we expect to tread along similar lines. But a lot eventually depends on the way things pan out on a daily basis,” he adds.
“You never know when good shows can change your fortune” was his reply when asked if he expects Sanjivani to change the ballgame for him. “I am all excited and raring to go.”
Whenever a popular star is paired with a new actor, his/her fans go livid, can you expect similar social media trolling from Sanjivani co-star Surbhi Chandna fans who might only want to see her with Ishqbaaz hero Nakkul Mehta “Well since we have not really started shooting so its ok for now; but then I guess I will have to deal with it. Everybody has the right to say what they want. So I rather concentrate on putting my best for the moment, as you know it is not easy.”
In closing we ask Namit what went wrong with his last Sony show, Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai ? “I really don’t know for the show was great in terms of storyline. I also had a great time working with senior artists like Manish Choudhary. Ratings on the other hand depend on factors like channel strategy which are anyways beyond my control. All we can do is put our best and I did just that and hope to only get better with every outing.”
Best of luck for this one, Namit!!
