Talented actor Arjit Taneja who is presently entertaining viewers as the lead in Zee TV’s Kaleerein (Triangle Films) will literally jump and grab an opportunity that comes knocking at his door from the digital space.
An avid watcher of content made for the web space, Arjit has seen series like Sacred Games, The Test Case etc.
Says the actor, “I would love it if I would get a chance to perform on the digital space. The content available there is so different and nice. Every actor would want to take up the challenge of being part of a show like Sacred Games.”
Arjit Taneja is satisfied with his journey as an actor with Kumkum Bhagya and Kaleerein. “When I started with Kumkum Bhagya, I did not know anything. I learnt through the journey I had. I feel so better now as an actor with Kaleerein. The character of Vivaan has taught me a lot; it has has a lot of layering and am glad to have performed well.”
Talking about the way TV industry performs, he states, “Every character appears different when it starts. But over a period of time, the character changes and the story takes a new route. This is at times annoying as the character loses its initial shine. Also, ratings play a big role in the changes that happen. We as actors do not have any hold on the ratings. Everything depends on the story, the chemistry and viewers’ interest in the show. I don’t know how ratings work in India. Having said this, I am happy and pleased that Kaleerein has had a good run and we are about to complete a year’s run soon,” he states categorically.
Ask him whether he will want to break away from the ‘romantic’ hero image that his characters Purab (Kumkum Bhagya) and Vivaan (Kaleerein) have given him and he says, “Romance is present in every show on TV. I will want to do whatever is good. As I said, stories change every week and so do the basic characteristics of a character. So genre does not matter to me much; the meatiness in the role is what excites me.”
Way to go, Arjit!!
