I will not play negative anymore: Vikram Singh Chauhan

Vikram Singh Chauhan has answered his fans and is determined to now take up only positive roles.

Vikram Singh Chauhan is quite excited about his rebirth avatar in Sony show, Ek Deewaana Tha (LSD Films). Ghost, Shiv (Namik Paul), will get mukti and will return; ditto with Sharanya (Donal Bisht) who was shown dead. Thus, total reincarnation; quite a spiritual task we must say. “If it works, so be it.”

Here, Vikram, who gained name and fame with Jaana Na Dil Se Door, refuses to confirm or deny if his character will again be negative, post leap. “All I can say is that it will be interesting, with lots of twists and turns.”

“I had never tried negative before, hence I took it up, wanting to challenge the actor within. I hope people have hated Vyom, for that means I have done my bit”, says Vikram, who has done other shows, such as Qubool Hai and Million Dollar Girl.

“The challenge in the new season is to play a new shade, better than what I have done before.” Here Vikram, who admits that a lot of his fan base was miffed with his decision to turn negative, says, “Forthem, there is good news. Henceforth, I will do only positive characters.”

“No regrets, for I am still very new in the industry, so needed to experiment to see what my strong or weak points are,” avers the actor.

Do you think negative characters have more shades to play, as compared to positive leads? “No, even a positive lead can have lots of variations. It all boils down to convincing your creative team that you can deliver the goods. If you can do that, meatier stuff follows, like I got in all my shows.”

Looking ahead, he would love to really push the envelope and try out characters as diverse as brooding Devdas, to a sportsman, to an action hero.

We sure hope that Vikram gets good roles in films, as the kind of stuff in his bucket list does not happen on TV often. Hope he also considers web, where one can go crazy creatively.

On second thoughts, web is better, as success of TV stars in films is iffy at best.
