Why did you opt for this show and the character?

I opted for the role because it is a strong character. This is not a negative character but has shades of grey. You cannot call it grey as well because she does what she believes in. I love exploring such roles hence I gave my nod to it.

Tell us about your character?

Rajeshwari is a manipulative woman, but she is attached to her brother. She has a habit of looking down upon people and talking to them in a condescending manner. Rajeshwari is a powerful woman who believes that money can buy everything, and she uses her power and position for her benefit. Rajeshwari has a cute relationship with her brother but they have different ideologies. She doesn’t want her brother to get involved with someone who doesn’t deserve him. Her behaviour is exactly the opposite of her brothers. She is very money-minded as opposed to her brother who only thinks from his heart.

What new twists your character will bring to Swaran’s life?

There is a potential love story brewing between Swaran and Arjun and Rajeshwari is against the relationship. Obviously, Swaran is not up to the mark when the status is questionable. Hence, she will definitely have a very tumultuous relationship with Swaran.

How has been your experience shooting so far for the show?

It is a problem for me to shoot in Chandigarh because my family is away. Having said that, Both Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta (producers of the show) have been my good friends for a long time now so it was a homecoming for me. Although I miss home, I must say that the entire team of Swaran Ghar is amazing. I am glad that they take good care of me and everyone on the set.

How difficult does it get to establish your character when you enter a show mid-way?

It is only as difficult as the writing part. If the writing is good and the role is well defined, it is very easy to get into the character. I am very lucky that in my journey, I have got very well-defined roles hence it is not tough.

Have you watched Swaran Ghar earlier, before entering the show, what do you think about the show?

I watched it when Ronit Roy was part of the show. Post that, I got busy with my role and show. I like this daily.
