Poonam Sirnaik who is seen as Parmeshwari Chotwani, aka Nani, in Studio LSD’s newly launched show Jamai No. 1 for Zee TV, relates very well to her character. She said, “I relate to my character a lot! Like him, I’m fun-loving and always try to ensure that people around me are happy. It feels like I am bringing a part of myself to the screen.”

The actress who has featured in TV shows Patiala Babes, Shubh Laabh apkey Ghar Mein etc averred, “This character is more fun-loving and carefree compared to my previous roles. It’s a refreshing change for me as an actor to explore a lighter, more vibrant side.”

Asked how her show is different from the current shows on TV, she said, “Most shows on TV are centred around the typical saas-bahu saga, and somewhere the fun element gets missed. Our show strikes a perfect balance—it has drama, comedy, and loads of entertainment. It’s something that stands out in today’s TV landscape.”

Poonam expressed her belief that the audience will definitely connect with the humour and light-hearted moments in the show. She added, “It’s something that resonates with real-life family situations but with an entertaining twist.”

She also pointed out that Jamai No. 1 is an interesting twist on ghar jamais. She said, “The concept of a ghar jamai with a fun twist is what makes this show stand out. It’s a refreshing take that blends humour, family dynamics, and relatable situations, creating something unique and entertaining.”

Best of luck!!
