Krishna Mukherjee is very emotional about the ending of her iconic Star Plus show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. It will be replaced with Yeh Hai Chahatein, from 19th December.
“There will be no call time every day. I will also miss the set and entire unit. I will still be in touch with the main cast on phone, but not with the technical and support staff.”
“Along with me, my 1.9 million Instagram fans are very upset and want the show to continue. To them, all I can say is that YHM had a glorious six-year journey and I guess its time was up. Having said that, I thank them from the bottom of my heart for making me who I am now.”
Here Krishna adds, “I will forever be indebted to Ekta Kapoor for giving me this great chance in the first place. I was a rank novice back then, learning on the job. Now when I see my earlier scenes, I cringe at how bad I was.”
“Creative Director, Sandeep Sicand sir virtually held me by my hand, making me imbibe my character. He would tell me, be yourself, for Krishna is just like Aliya.”
“The team has made me very strong from inside. At first, I was very delicate, taking offence at small things. But now I am ready for whatever you throw at me”.
Among her co-stars, she will miss Shireen Mirza (Simmi) and Aditi Bhatia (Ruhi) the most. “I am also close to Divyanka Tripathi.”
Looking ahead, Krishna now wants to try her hand at Punjabi cinema. “Hailing from Ludhiana, I know the lingo and culture very well.”
“As for tv, I would now want to become a chirpy funloving main lead. Negative is not for me. I had played one such genre in Nagin, which was well received. I hope the new season does very well.”
“Having said that never say never. I might also be willing to play the title dayan or chudail, if some very juicy character comes my way.”
Apart from tube, she would also be game for web series. “But yes, I am not cut out for kissing and lovemaking scenes. I would love to do Alt Balaji shows like Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel. I am sure mam will only call me for stuff which is in my comfort zone.”
