Talented actress Raymon Singh who essays the step-mother of the male lead Shantanu in Zee TV’s Yeh Teri Galliyan produced by Cinevista is happy that the story is gaining momentum with the recent twists in the tale.
Raymon is happy and satisfied with the character graph she has got in Yeh Teri Galliyan. Says the actress, “I am very happy with my role in the show. I have got to play both positive and negative shades. When the show started, Nivedita Mazumdar was super-positive which later turned grey and now she is completely negative and wicked. It has been joyous playing these shades. When I was positive, there was a very thin line between being grey and positive. When I was grey, there was again a thin line from being grey and negative. And now, she is pretending to be positive but is totally negative. It is great to work with Palki. She is passionate about every character. Also the entire team is very enthusiastic.”
Raymon says that her onscreen character has been justified in turning grey and negative after her husband had cheated on her. “She was initially madly in love with her husband and wanted a kid to make their life complete. It was a happy family. Slowly when she came to know of Shantanu being her husband’s child, the turnover happened. The story kept taking me ahead and I had to just follow the storyline. She also feels that because of Shantanu, she has lost her position in the house. Secondly, Shantanu has given her son a handicap. So like any other mother would react, Nivedita has hated Shantanu. Her mission now is to get her son Hridoy (Lavin Gothi) his rightful place in the family.”
The actress says that all in the cast look forward to the Thursdays when the ratings come. “We have been on a progressive mark with respect to the ratings. So everytime the ratings come, there is cake cutting on the set and we are sent flowers. The entire team is pepped up with these gestures. We work really hard and seems like the hard work has paid off with the show doing well.”
Raymon Singh had taken a sabbatical of seven years after Kkusum. She was seen in Ek Deewaana Tha on Sony TV earlier. “This has been the most challenging role in the second phase of my career. I have had good work satisfaction. There have been scenes where I have had to really work hard.”
The seasoned actress believes in putting all energies on one project at a given point of time. “I have a 13 years old daughter to take care of. I believe that if you are dedicated to one show, you get to enjoy it. Also you get the time needed for yourself which helps you to come back the next day to give your best. Yeh Teri Galliyan has been special as I have had two nominations and one award for the role of Nivedita Mazumdar.”
Wish you luck, Raymon!!
