I am yet to experience stardom: Basant Bhatt

Basant Bhatt, who enjoyed a stint in theatres before the plump offer of playing the teenage Karn has come long way. The actor is currently enthralling audience as Balram in Star Bharat’s RadhaKrishn.

He says, “I did theatres and also worked as a personal yoga instructor when I bagged my first show. I was more than happy to take up the role. Now, I am really enjoying the experience of playing the role of Balram. I began my career with a Swastik show and doing a series with them again is an amazing experience. Siddharth sir has been like a friend. He has taught a lot and the entire production team is very good. Working with Swastik is like home coming for me.”

“Balram is not just a character, but the symbol of a common person for me. His challenges have made him a hero. Thanks to my directors and team, I was capable of pulling it off. I read books on Balram, and discussed a lot with my creative to get the right detailing,” Basant adds.

Talking about the preparation for the show, he shares, “I just worked on my body. I did a lot of workout to get a perfect body for the role. However, I am yet to achieve the goal that I have targeted for myself. I am working towards achieving that goal.”

When asked about the turning point in his life, he avers, “I have been in this industry but I am yet to experience stardom. I am in the learning process. I want to be known for my acting talent and a character which viewers remember all their lives.”

On an ending note, he says, “Sumedh is a brother. He is great performer and it is pleasure working with such bunch of talented people on sets.”
