Niti Taylor Writes: My Trip to Kolkata! 2

The start was a little messy with a tussle with my flight to Kolkata, but as my day progressed things started falling in place and my day from bad became the best. I entered Osaa by Adarsh, one of Kolkata’s eminent designer studios.  I was warmly welcomed by the staff of Osaa and by the main man himself Adarsh. Yes, I started my visit with a Lovely Photo-shoot. I was soooooo excited…

I was introduced to the very talented fashion and film makeup/ hair artist Prasenjit from Kolkata who hardly put any makeup on me, and said, ‘she is naturally really cute, can’t do anything more to make her so cute’.

With the rollers on my hair, I went down to get my first outfit, and there I was already ready in a lovely emerald green light flowy skirt with an interesting top.

With the curls I really looked so beautiful. I could feel it. Straight into the 90’s era (wink) The crew teased me as Madhuri Dixit… I blushed…

Then I was introduced to the photographer with a cute pony tail, but an extremely talented person to work with. And it was the first time when I saw a photographer swirling and telling me what to do. And I found that really helpful. It’s always good to do new things and learn new things from people. And what amazing shots he got of my twirling, dancing, swaying my hair.

And then I heard and saw a lot of people shouting my name. My fans had reached. I was so thrilled, so honored to meet them. More than me, they were excited, it was me who’s nervous and excited. Not a butterfly,  the whole zoo in my tummy. I met my fans, some bunked their school, some travelled from Jamshedpur, some missed their colleges, their tuitions. Most of their parents didn’t know, as the exams are around the corner. They got me two cakes, two months to go for my birthday. It’s actually a blessing to have such ‘fanmily’ who are so thoughtful about the littlest things I like, or they make me feel so special. Gifts, cards, chocolates, cakes, collages everything… all meant a lot to me.

Off to the next change… which will surprise my fans….

Then there I was pretty Niti in Bengali attire.

Trust me, when I looked at myself in the mirror I was like now my mom will say chalo let’s look for a boy…ha ha ha ha…

With the red bindiii and the wink liner red lipstick, I again felt pretty.  I was even introduced to a very talented and beautiful actress Ritabhari who joined me for the shoot. She looked really pretty in the deep pink saree and the lovely ornaments.  It was lovely meeting a true elegant Bengali beauty who at a very young age had achieved a lot. Specially a girl! And so grounded.  We clicked a lot of pictures… We had a lot of fun shooting.

It was 8 in the evening, but our energy was at its peak, suddenly a new bunch of my ‘fanmily’ had arrived. They were screaming, hooting my name. Trust me I felt like a celebrity. Very celebrity feeling.

Some of them travelled from Bandel, Asansol, Chandan Nagar, they got late because they all came from so far.

I am so shocked. I just want to tell you guys. That you all mean a lot to me. I am blessed with the best ‘fanmily’! Thank you so much for all your tiniest to the biggest efforts. Kolkata rocks and you guys did make my trip the best.

I also want to thank my team, firstly Amit sir of Aaj Tak who had planned this special shoot, if you didn’t plan this I wouldn’t ever be in Kolkata. It was a pleasure working with you, everything ready before we reach. You kept all my small details in mind. You are so calm I really have to learn this from you.

So stay tuned to know what all I did the next day…

Love

Niti
