Review of Colors’ Bawara Dil: Another hatred-turns-to-love tale in a new packaging

Bawara Dil of Colors gets reviewed by IWMBuzz.com

Colors’ newly launched show Bawara Dil has been launched amid a good marketing and promotional plan. The show garners all the initial eyeballs as it brings back the huge star Adittya Redij to our screens after a very long time.

We get reminded of his popular stint in the Colors show Na Aana Is Des Laado even now.

Coming to Bawara Dil, it is the usual hatred-turns-to-love tale that we have seen in many TV shows and films. There’s nothing unique about the concept. The fact that the show has been promoted with the tag line ‘Siddhi Hates Shiva’ does not give out any newness.

But we must accept that the manner in which the show has been created and executed is indeed interesting. Happy High Creations comes up with an old tale in a really good packaging, is what we can say.

We have Siddhi (Kinjal Dhamecha) who is all set to become the bride of Gaurav, the man she loves. She dreams of the day she will become his wife and get going to Pune for a new life with him. However, her happiness is dampened when she does not end up finishing her weeks-long Puja without the interference of the third man, Shiva (Adittya Redij). The lamp which should not be touched by anyone else except Siddhi and her groom is saved from falling down by Shiva. Here starts the connect of Shiva and Siddhi.

Shiva is the right-hand man of Akka Bai (Sumukhi Pendse) the local politician. Shiva’s anger and aggression and dutiful approach towards Akka Bai, brings him in the bad books of Siddhi. She has seen him misbehave with a girl in public, which results in her identifying Shiva in the police station in a disguised avatar.

However, Siddhi’s identity gets known to Shiva and he gets her kidnapped for a day, exactly on the wedding day. Siddhi’s wedding gets called off owing to her sudden disappearance.

Even when Siddhi is sent back home, she is subjected to innumerable questions on what exactly happened when she was abducted. Siddhi again lodges a complaint against Shiva for kidnapping her.

Well, the life of Siddhi has certainly been ruined just before her marriage. However, the fact that Siddhi and Shiva’s fights have also brought about the developments of Shiva putting sindoor on Siddhi’s hairline and holding on to the lamp that finishes her puja, are clear indications that they are going to be partners in the future.

What we really wonder is whether a girl who has seen so much happening to her just before her wedding, only because of a man by name Shiva can ever fall in love with him?

Having said that, there is a streak of goodness and kindness in Shiva that puts its face out every now and then. Maybe Siddhi will go on to see this nicety in the man in the near future!!

All said and done, it is a concept that has been replenished and shown time and again. The place of Rudrayat has been captured really well. The long and closeup shots emphasising on the place and surroundings are catchy.

Adittya Redij is a revelation as always. In this new look and stuning aura, Shiva will quickly win hearts. Kinjal Dhamecha looks good in the role of Siddhi. However, she can be better in dialogue delivery, and concentrate more on prioritizing the emotion with which the dialogue is being said.

Sumukhi Pendse is a very senior actor and as Akka Bai, she is sure to deliver. We have a lot of Marathi actors who will come into the reckoning as the show moves on.

This show will surely do well, and will be heavily dependent on the performances of the key characters.

We credit 2.5 stars out of 5 stars for Bawara Dil.
