Review of Colors’ Thapki Pyar Ki 2: Begins on a good note

IWMBuzz.com reviews Colors latest offering Thapki Pyar Ki 2

Colors has taken audiences down memory lane by launching one of its popular shows, Thapki Pyar Ki. The show returned with season 2 which is being produced by Ved Raj’s Shoonya Square Productions. The bright and beautiful Thapki is pretty much perfect… except for one minor flaw – she stammers. But that doesn’t hold her back. All she needs is an encouraging pat on the back, a ‘thapki’, which soon becomes her name.

The first episode began with the introduction of Thapki (Jigyasa Singh) who wants to be a renowned singer like her inspiration Veena Singhania (Jaya Bhattacharya) who happens to be a renowned singer with a legacy. However, her stammering often shatters her confidence. On the other hand, Veena’s son Purab (Aakash Ahuja) owns a massive music company and is keen to create new music along with creating a remix of his mother’s iconic numbers. However, Veena isn’t much pleased with the idea of remixing her numbers and that too by an amateur singer and is looking for the right successor for her position.

Season 2 of the show begins on a good note. The makers have maintained the narrative very simple. The attention to detail, the expressions of the actors, the costume, set, all these prove that the job is done well. All the actors have put in a tremendous effort to portray their respective characters precisely as imagined by the writers. Thapki gives a strong message of living the dream and not giving up easily. However, the loyal audiences loved Jigyasa’s pairing with Manish Goplani. Now, the new Jodi of Aakash and Jigyasa will have buck up to make a special place in the audience’s hearts.

Overall it’s a good start for the show with some impressive performances. We credit the show with 3 out of 5 stars.
