Review Of Sony SAB’s Alibaba Dastaan-E-Kabul: Engrossing Tale Of Ali Takes You To A Magical World

IWMBuzz.com reviews Sony SAB’s show Alibaba Dastaan-E-Kabul

Sony SAB’s magnum opus Alibaba Dastaan-e-Kabul produced by Peninsula Pictures, inspired by the popular folk tale Alibaba and forty thieves, launched last week and it has already grabbed the audience’s interest. It’s not only the grandeur and aesthetics of the show that makes it a crowd puller but also the intriguing plot twists and characters.

About the show:

Alibaba Dastaan-e-Kabul is a tale of a charismatic young man, Alibaba, with undeterred optimism and mesmerizing charm. He is the custodian of five adorable orphans. Unaware of his capabilities and disparaged by destiny, Alibaba will be seen embarking on a wondrous quest that will reshape his life forever. From a happy-go-lucky guy to being the one chosen by destiny itself to save the fate of Kabul, Alibaba’s fantastical journey will be the crux of this dazzling new show. To make matters interesting, he will meet an interesting and arresting beauty Mariam, who will further help him along in his quest for realizing his true destiny.
The daily has a stellar ensemble cast that includes the television’s newest heartthrob Sheezan Khan as Alibaba in the lead role and the strikingly gorgeous Tunisha Sharma in the role of Mariam. Sayantani Ghosh is seen essaying the role of television’s first Sim Sim.

What we like:

In the initial episodes of the show, the outdoor scenes of Alibaba – Dastaan-e-Kabul which were shot in the exotic locales of Ladakh are showcased. The beauty of Ladakh makes the show more appealing and engaging. With state-of-the-art computer graphics and visual effects, accompanied by an enthralling plot, the show guarantees entertainment for every age group is what we feel.

The best part about the show is that Sheezan and Tunisha seem the perfect casting for Alibaba and Mariam. While Sheezan’s graceful acting is on point, Tunisha’s innocence steals the show. On the other hand, Sayantani brings out the best in Sim Sim. Her powerful dialogues and the motivation she shares for guarding the cave make her an extremely interesting and layered character. She surpasses the boundaries of good and evil and comes across as a complex character whose narrative arc is only going to get better with each revelation.

The show promises to be a pure visual delight for the audience as it is supported by a brilliant star cast, visual effects, and the grandest set. Making the show and its characters stand out the most are the creatively designed looks for each character.

Our verdict:

The show may look simple from the outside, but it has a mysterious appeal to it. From larger-than-life locales to a fascinating narrative packed with charisma, the show promises viewers the grandeur they have never witnessed before on Indian television. IWMBuzz.com credits 3 out of 5 stars for Aladdin.
