Review of Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi- Nayi Kahani Season 3: Dev and Sonakshi’s simple yet complicated love story recreates magic

IWMBuzz.com reviews Sony TV’s show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi- Nayi Kahani Season 3

Sony Entertainment Television show, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi- Nayi Kahani from the production team of Beyond Dreams has made a comeback on small screen. The show has rightly proved the saying ‘old is gold’ since its first episode. Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi is a popular franchise that has established a strong emotional connection with the audience through the on-screen couple Dev and Sonakshi, lovingly addressed by fans as DevAkshi.

About the show

Dev and Sonakshi, previously, have taken the audience through a myriad of emotions that reiterated compatibility, understanding, love, compromise, anguish, separation, and parenthood. While the maiden season saw the protagonists meet, fall in love, and fight against all odds to be together, including Dev’s protective and possessive mother Ishwari; the second season depicted how Dev and Sonakshi navigate through multiple emotions and issues of compatibility, communication, compromise, and their parenthood. This new chapter in the lives of Dev and Sonakshi delve into what it takes to keep the spark alive in a relationship, in the face of unforeseen circumstances; and whether time leads to comfort or cracks in the relationship. Kuch Rang Aise Bhi Pyar Ke Aise Bhi – Nayi Kahaani has actors Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes reprise their on-screen characters of Dev and Sonakshi with veteran actress Supriya Pilgaonkar as Dev’s mother Ishwari. Child actors Aleena Lambe, Advait Shukla playing the roles of Suhana and Ayushmaan.

Good points:

The third season seems to be a roller coaster for the viewers with plot twists and a gripping storyline. In the first episode of the show, Dev and Sonakshi learn the shocking truth that Suhana is not their real daughter, and instead, Sonakshi delivered a boy, named Ayushmaan. This twist hooks viewers with the plot. Apart from that, the dialogues have always won the hearts of fans and critics. Remember the dialogue from season 1, when Dev proposes to Sonakshi and says, ‘I love you like a man loves a woman’. Well, the same treatment is given to this season when it comes to dialogues.

One of the most amazing dialogues was said by Ishwari in the first episode of the third season when Dev tells her that if there is a competition between a son and mother, she would always win. Ishwari says ‘Maa Bete ke khel me, Maa humesha nau mahine aage chalti hai.’ It is heart-touching. Dev and his mother Ishwari’s unconditional bond is still intact and the same. They continue to be each other’s support system. Overall, Erica, Shaheer, and Supriya steal the show with their performances.

Bad points:

The foremost reason why fans wanted the show to be back is to see Dev and Sonakshi’s amazing chemistry and which lacks here. In previous seasons, they have made our hearts flutter with their cute gestures and made us cry while they were in pain. Although the third season will throw light on the changing dynamics of their relationship, Dev and Sonakshi’s amazing chemistry has been missing which upset fans. There is a lack of spark and as the storyline progresses it will be seen that the couple who were inseparable are now two different individuals living under the same roof. This is the most disappointing factor of season 3. However, this time it is a complicated love story with an exciting twist so fans must wait and watch.

Besides the minor hiccups, overall, it is a decent watch. We hope that the show manages to capture the audience’s attention more in the near future.

IWMBuzz.com credits the show 3.5 out of 5 stars.
