Review of Star Bharat’s Tera Mera Saath Rahe: Similarity in plot dampens interest

IWMBuzz.com reviews Star Bharat’s show Tera Mera Saath Rahe

Star Bharat recently launched the prequel of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, named Tera Mera Saath Rahe. The show saw the return of favorite Saas Bahu Jodi Gopi and Kokila as Gopika and Mithila. The daily will take viewers through the journey of a talented yet nervous girl Gopika (played by Giaa Manek) and a powerful and independent mentor Mithila (played by Rupal Patel).

Produced by Ved Raj from Shoonya Square Productions, the show’s ensemble cast also includes Mohammad Nazim, Vandana Vithlani, Mili Verma, Nitin Vakharia, Jyoti Mukerji, Raj Kumar, Pooja Kava, Minal Karpe, Hitesh Sampat, Maharshi Dave, Sumanti, and many more.

Good Points:

The show gives a nostalgic trip. It brings back fond memories of the show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Apart from that, fans also get to see Gia Manek and Mohammad Nazim’s cute and innocent jodi. The two look amazing on-screen. Rupal too shines as Mithila. The daily talks about women empowerment and about how a woman can change things in her own house and society with the help of her mentor. Bringing the authenticity of the local flavour and rustic cultural elements to the storyline, the makers have maintained the narrative very simple yet extremely relatable and engaging.

Bad points:

Tera Mera Saath Rahe seems to be a copy of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. The same story is presented to audiences by just changing the names of the characters and show. Gopika looks and behaves exactly like Gopi. Similarly, the nature of the remaining characters be it Vandana Vithlani, Mohammad Nazim or Rupal Patel doesn’t give a new appeal to the show. This similarity in plot dampens the interest of the viewers.

Overall, if you are a fan of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, you should give it a try. We also hope that the show manages to capture the audience’s attention in the near future.

IWMBuzz.com credits the show with 2 out of 5 stars.
