Zee TV is on a roll. The channel recently launched shows and presented audiences with two new shows, Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Naa and Aggar Tum Na Hote. Now, Zee is back with a story that will make audiences reconsider their approach towards women achieving more than their male counterparts.
The channel’s next fiction offering, Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain produced by Saurabh Tewari from Parin Multimedia explores the reactions faced by a couple where the woman is more successful than her husband. Paragi Parashar, the female protagonist who along with her love interest Sanjay Pathak, is preparing for her UPSC exam. While both of them are extremely motivated towards their joint goal of becoming IAS officers, the show captures the dynamics between the two families after Paragi clears her exam with flying colors and Sanjay doesn’t.
Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain will feature popular television actress Akshita Mudgal who will be portraying the role of Paragi, a smart, witty, and studious girl. On the other hand, the role of Sanjay will be played by none other than Hitesh Bharadwaj.
We have been living in a patriarchal society where women still struggle for their basic rights to education and to live life as they want it. Often we have seen females sacrificing their dreams for their families. The show also depicts the same since its inception. Paragi is gearing up for her sister’s wedding. But it is a big day for Paragi as, amid the celebrations, she is looking forward to fulfilling her dream of applying for UPSC exams. However, her badi mummy Chanda is against her dreams.
In fact, Chanda and her kids aren’t fond of having Paragi around and are often seen exploiting her for household chores. However, it is Paragi’s bade papa who is her biggest support. The show is a mixture of two popular Bollywood movies, Vivaah and Abhimaan. Paragi and her badi mummy’s behaviour towards her will remind you of Poonam and her Chachi from Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor starrer Vivaah. And the overall concept of Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain will remind you of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan starrer Abhimaan.
The casting of the show is in place. The first glimpse of the leads Akshita and Hitesh was impressive. The makers hooked audiences with interesting twists as the first episode was dramatic. Although the concept of the soap is good, we feel it is cliched. Overall, Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain is an interesting family drama and you can give it a try.
IWMBuzz.com credits the show with 2.5 out of 5 stars.
