Zee TV unveiled yet another engaging narrative with Maitree produced by Sunshine Productions. The show is a high-octane drama about two soul sisters – Maitree and Nandini whose childhood friendship has turned sour with a quirk of fate.
The plot revolves around the story of love and friendship between Maitree (played by Shrenu Parikh) and her soul sister Nandini (played by Bhaweeka Chaudhary). The two best friends have been inseparable since their childhood, so much so that their mothers also question them as to what they will do when either of them gets married. While they are sure that nothing can break their friendship and that they will remain best friends even after marriage, it seems that life has its own plans for them. Despite getting married in the same house, with Maitree marrying Saaransh (played by Zaan Khan) and Nandini with Ashish (played by Namish Taneja) respectively, a shocking turn of events in their lives changes everything.
After witnessing the first few episodes, we can say the show has begun on a good note. Looking at the storyline, this new drama is nothing out of the box. We have seen stories of two best friends who bond like sisters. However, it has managed to win hearts with an amazing cast.
Namish Taneja has the normal TV good boy role, but yes, he does add a personal touch, endearing him to the audience. Shrenu Parikh has time and again proven that she can play any role to a T. Bhaweeka Chaudhary, who is a few shows old, has been at her best in the first week for sure with her look, acting, and expressions. The best casting of the show is Zaan Khan. He as Saransh has won hearts like how. It is not easy to essay a role that has no resemblance with your personality and Zaan is doing a fine job by playing a drug addict. He has nailed it with his expression and chops.
Although the concept is explored, the performance of the talented actors Shrenu Parikh, Namish Taneja, Bhaweeka Chaudhary, and Zaan Khan will be the key and should connect well with the viewers. Overall; it is a decent watch. We hope that the show continues to capture the audience’s attention in the near future too.
IWMBuzz.com credits the show 3.5 out of 5 stars.
