Review of Zee TV’s Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Naa: Impressive performances but demonstrated concept

IWMBuzz.com reviews Zee TV new show Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Naa

Zee TV recently presented audiences with a new late primetime offering, Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Naa, a fairytale romance where the universe manifests a girl’s most deeply cherished dream of being swept off her feet by her prince charming.

Produced by Dome Of Entertainment led by Mohammad Morani, Mazhar Nadiadwala, and Anil Jha, the story begins from the picturesque landscape of the princely state of Ambikapur, the story delves into the life of Krisha Chaturvedi (Anjali Tatrari) a simple girl from Udaipur who moves into a magnificent palace with hopes of beginning a new life with the man of her dreams, Prince Devraj Singh Rathore (Avinesh Rekhi). The latter on the other hand is the current heir of the royal family of Ambikapur and has the charisma of a blue-blooded royal.

Unlike Krisha’s world, Devraj’s family still lives in the glory of the Rajwadas and are staunch believers of tradition. Jaya Maa (Rakshanda Khan) is the matriarch of the royal family. While she came to the house as a caretaker of the palace years ago, she soon became more like a sister to Devraj’s father, Virendra Singh Rathore. After his untimely death, Jaya Maa became the sole in-charge of the Rathore mansion and has been responsible for its smooth running ever since. She is an elegant, glamorous woman with a royal demeanor and loves to socialize amongst her own.

The show’s grand set adds a visual treat for the viewers along with the lead actors. Anjali displays a good screen presence and succeeds in portraying the character of a simple innocent girl who is in awe of the king. Her smile and expressive eyes take over the scene. Avinesh is equally awesome as a prince. He acts well to show the character’s restrained nature. He does not overdo the role and just expresses it by his amazing screen presence and subtle dialogue delivery. He pulls off the royal prince’s role effortlessly. Rakshanda looks classy and suits the role of Jaya Maa. Her elegance and heavy jewellery make a good combo to bring the royal look.

Apart from introducing the characters and introducing us to the plot, there was an attack on the prince too. It is too much to take in for a first episode for the audience. However, this also reveals the mysterious subplot of the show. This daily also reminds us of Zee TV’s another show named Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani which had a similar storyline. However, it is too early to judge the show.

Overall, the show does impress us with an amazing set, impressive performances, and a mysterious storyline. We credit the show with 3 out of 5 stars.
