Review of Sony TV’s Story 9 Months Ki: Appealing, enjoyable, but can do better

Sony Entertainment Television has always given some of the best and memorable shows on Indian television. In a bid to grab eyeballs, the channel has launched yet another new and unique show – Story 9 Months Ki.

The fiction show is a progressive and entertaining story that features Sukirti Kandpal as Alia Shroff and Aashay Mishra as Sarangdhar Pandey in the lead roles.

About the show

It’s a fresh tale of two characters, who belong to completely different backgrounds. Alia Shroff is a successful and ambitious businesswoman, who is a go-getter in life. Whereas Sarangdhar Pandey is a budding and aspiring writer.

Alia Shroff decides to have a child through the IVF technique and is looking for a suitable donor. She believes a single mother can raise a child. On the other hand, Sarangdhar, who hails from Mathura, leaves for Mumbai to pursue his big dreams.

Good points:

The show is progressive in terms of its concept. It has a fresh appeal to make its mark on Indian TV. Sukirti, who returns to TV after a long break, is playing the role of an ambitious businesswoman to the T, looking very beautiful in those simple yet classy outfits. She is coming across as very fresh. One does not remember her previous outings (Dill Mill Gayye). Aashay as Sarangdhar also fits into this character. We will surely wait to see how the story moves to Mumbai, where Aashay wants to go, to fulfill his dreams where he also collides with Alia.

Bad points:

In bits and pieces, we do feel it to be boring and slow. However, it would be wrong to judge by seeing a few episodes. Sukriti and Aashay’s jodi is new but unusual. But we are looking forward to this unusual jodi to spark chemistry.

Overall, the show has indeed made us happy and will most likely grow on you as the story proceeds. IWMBuzz.com credits the show 3 out of 5 stars.
