Star Plus along with ace television producer Sandiip Sikcand launched a new modern-day story ‘Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali’ amidst the season of love.
About the show:
The show brings alive the narrative of two different individuals, Pallavi Deshmukh and Raghav Reddy as they take on second chances in their life. Set up in Hyderabad, the show features young talents Shivangi Khedkar and Sai Ketan Rao in lead roles. While Shivangi and Sai have been popularly known for their roles in the Telugu industry, it is their first Hindi show as leads.
Pallavi is widowed at a young age, while Raghav is cheated in love. Raghav lives a lonely life because of his bitter past experience in love. But, his belief in love doesn’t end completely. Pallavi isn’t ready to accept anyone in her life so soon, but she finds a charming heart behind the arrogant personality of Raghav. Raghav appears strict but is too soft-hearted. His honest behavior wins Pallavi’s heart. Raghav and Pallavi get into a bond of marriage.
Other cast and crew members include Milind Phatak, Asmita Khatkhate, Snehal Reddy, Ajinkya Joshi, Rutuja Sawant, Priyanka Dhavale and Sayli Salunkhe.
Good Points:
Shivangi is perfect to play Pallavi, she pulls off a simple girl-next-door look with aplomb & assurance. She easily convinces us as a sweet demure girl. Sai looks suave and debonair in his corporate look as Raghav. His character is mysterious and hooks us to the plot. The actor makes quite an impressive mark in the first episode of the show. The daily has apt casting, and good chemistry can be expected from the lead actors.
Also, bringing in authentic content and feel to the audiences, the entire well-designed sets are based in Kolhapur, Maharashtra and the show is shot there entirely.
Bad Points:
Although the pairing and actors are new and fresh, there is nothing appealing as such. It is another ‘opposites attract’ love story which is a tried and tested formula.
Thumbs up:
Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali has started off on a good note and has kept the interest intact. We hope they continue to do so.
IWMBuzz.com credits the show with 2.5 out of 5 stars.
