All good things come to an end. The same holds good for Kuch Rang. When I was offered the show, I wasn’t sure to take up a daily soap, but today I am more than happy that I did this show. Not only because it clicked but also because I am proud to be a part of such a beautiful project.
The best thing about the character I played in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi was that it evolved as the storyline progressed. There were so many shades of Dev which we got to see but for me the best phase was when Dev turned into a badass after the leap. It was the most exciting phase for me as I got kicked for every scene. It was quite interesting.
Here I would like to state that Dev did a lot of mistakes in his life and as Shaheer, I wouldn’t want to repeat those mistakes. The show has helped me evolve as a person and professional.
Erica is an amazing actor and even better co star. It was good to have somebody sensible and mature on the sets.
I have made some great relationships, one being with my on screen mother played by Supriya Pilgaonkar. Just the fact that I want to call her Maa (mother) for the rest of my life explains how I feel about her. Talking about Erica (Fernandes), she is an amazing actor and even better co star. It was good to have somebody sensible and mature on the sets. I know the show ended abruptly but I feel Kuch Rang lived its life because we almost did everything that was narrated to me at the beginning. Like I said, all good things have to come an end someday.
Talking about acting as a profession, I have been part of mythology sagas as well as drama series. For me acting is very simple. I just try to live the character not act, be it mythology or drama. Rest all falls into place. I believe actors are a little insecure be it on TV or movies. Thank God I never wanted to be famous, so all cool. I want to live a normal and simple life and I want to give as much time as I can to my family and myself. In the future, I want to own a production house and maybe open a restaurant at the beach (smiles).

A new leaf in my life opened with me heading to Indonesia. I know people call me Shahrukh Khan of Indonesia, however, I would like if they call somebody Shaheer Sheikh of Indonesia (smiles). It feels great that I was the first one to go to Indonesia and open a new market for Indian TV actors but honestly Indian TV is doing good all over the world and we should be proud of that.
Talking about future, I will take a break for few months. I am planning to go on a road trip from Mumbai to Jammu and stop by in every city on the way which will include Surat Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Vadodara, New Delhi, Ludhiana etc. At work front, I won’t jump into any offer, will see what will appeal to my likeability.
Before ending, many people ask me about my fitness mantra. I try to keep my diet as natural and organic as possible. I avoid synthetic food and I try to work out once in a while. Stay happy, stay healthy.
