Baishakhi, Deepak and Sharad Kelkar look forward to the premiere of their Marathi movie ‘The Goat (IDAK)

With the premiere of the movie The Goat (IDAK) being round the corner, it is an exciting phase for the makers.

National Award winning couple Baishakhi Banerjee and Deepak Gawade will now make themselves and their family proud by taking their Marathi film, The Goat (IDAK) for a World Premiere on MAMI. Joining them in this hall of fame will be actor turned producer Sharad Kelkar who has produced the movie along with Baishakhi with Deepak directing the movie.

The goat (IDAK) is the journey of ‘wisdom’, the journey of a naive man Namya who embarks on a trip to a ritual fair along with a goat which he would sacrifice to please his mother!! However, this journey of the man and goat will be one which will bring in a new insight in the man’s life and how this new friend (goat) will give him few new learnings of life will form the crux of the story…The movie stars Sandip Pathankar, Usha Naik, Sneha Wagh and Suhas Palshikar in the main cast.

The movie has been shot in Sholapur and Bhimashankarunder telling weather conditions during rains in order to capture the lush green landscape to the fullest.

Baishakhi who has served the Indian TV industry for a long time has been a successful Creative Director on the small screen. She has also been involved in writing dialogues and lyrics. Baishaki and her husband Deepak won a National Award for Family Values for their short film ‘Heyro Party’ in the year 2014. Sharad Kelkar the popular actor of small screen and big screen turns a new feather by becoming Producer.

And now they prepare along with Sharad for the premiere of The Goat (IDAK) on 16 October, at PVR, Andheri at 8.30 PM.

When contacted, Baishakhi told IndianWikiMedia.com, “It has been complete hard work for the last few years. Sharad is a good friend and it was great to join hands with him for the movie. The Goat (IDAK) has been shot under extreme weather conditions, and shooting with an animal in the main role is not easy at all. The initial response for the movie is promising and we look forward to the premiere at MAMI on 16 October.”
