Sony TV’s much-awaited Jennifer Winget psycho-drama Beyhadh, which is supposed to go on air this month, has finally got a launch date. Yes, according to sources, Maaya Mehrotra will be back on our screens from 18th November. This time around, Jenny will share screen space with Ashish Chowdhry and Shivin Narang. Season 1 had Kushal Tandon and Aneri Vajani as other leads.
But interestingly, as no large scale promotion of season 2 has started so far, we will not be surprised that this date might be pushed back a tad. The channel will not want to hold back any stops, as Beyhadh is a marquee property for the network. “Also, the Diwali festivities have just ended, so some time might go by”, added another source.
Although Beyhadh was not a ratings guzzler back in Season 1 as well, yet it got lots of critical acclaim. The show reportedly has become quite popular overseas as well.
It will hope that this time around, numbers go high, as Sony fiction has never fired ratings-wise, unlike their non-fiction offerings (KBC, The Kapil Sharma Show and Indian Idol).
When we reached out to Ashish, he claimed to have no clue about the date, saying, “I have not yet been informed about the same.” Jennifer, Shivin and producer Prateek Sharma (he was creator in season 1, produced by Cinevistaas Limited) did not respond to our messages.
Our attempts to reach out to the channel spokesperson also came to nought.
