COVID-19 Impact: Mumbai Shooting Industry To Shift To Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad?

The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed put a screeching halt to all the proceedings in the entertainment industry. With no possibility to shoot for new content, the television industry has had to manage the show with re-runs of yesteryear hit shows.

Now with the Zoom meeting being conducted between the broadcasters/industry bodies and CM of Maharashtra, Shri Uddhav Thackeray, there is a ray of hope as the industry has been asked to submit the SOP so that work can recommence in the near future.

As we write this piece of news, we are given to understand that all the top shows have started rework on its story and script.

That’s certainly good news, we must say!!

But Mumbai being in the red zone, is it safe to resume shoot?

With this, there have been talks of starting shoot elsewhere, and the buzz has it that Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad might be one of the safest destinations for shoots to resume!!

As per an industry source, “Considering that Maharashtra has been having a huge spike in cases with every passing day, there has been a talk of the entertainment industry moving its shoot base elsewhere, and Ramoji Film City, in Hyderabad, is the name that has been doing rounds.”

We also hear from our sources that the broadcasters have apparently told the Producers to discuss with their actors to travel elsewhere and start the shoot.

The source adds, “Of course, all the conditions and norms of keeping the actors and the crew members safe in the new location have to be met. It’s going to be a well thought out mutually agreeable decision.”

Well, this sounds good news for sure!! But the only trouble is that travel bound safety and for stay has to be ensured for all in the team!!

So is the Mumbai entertainment industry looking at resuming shoot outside of the maximum city?

We are keeping our fingers crossed and the coming days will surely give us many more answers!!
