The popular Canadian voice actor Doc Harris passed away on October 5th. The narrator was 76 years old. The death was confirmed by the Canadian trade publication Broadcast Dialogue. According to their report, Doc Harris took his last breath at the Vancouver General Hospital on October 5th, 2024. The narrator reportedly underwent minor surgery in September.
Doc Harris was born on August 3, 1948. He began his career in Canadian radio stations before gaining popularity through his narration in Dragon Ball Z, an anime series based on the Manga by Akira Toriyama. The narrator lent his voice for over 200 episodes of the series from 1996 to 2003 for almost six years. Harris was the English narrator of the manga series.
Actor Ian James Corlett penned his feelings about his friend and former colleague, saying he was “one of a kind.”
There are other series that have Doc Harris credits such as My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and video games including Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.
The Japanese Manga artist Akira Toriyama passed earlier this year in March. He was the first to achieve critical acclaim for his manga series Dr. Slump. Dragon Ball Z is quite popular among fans.
