Sagar World Multimedia the renowned production house is all set to launch the brand new version of Ramayan on Doordarshan. Titled Kaakbhushundi Ramayan, the show will launch on 18 November. The show not only promises an exciting watch for the audiences but also shall keep them entertained with some untold stories from this ancient saga.

The series is helmed by creative director and Producer Shiv Sagar Chopra, the grandson of the late Dr. Ramanand Sagar, who brought the epic to life in 1987, captivating millions of hearts worldwide. At a time when television was in its nascent stages in India, Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan” became the most-watched television series, with an estimated viewership of over a billion people globally.

Kaakbhushundi Ramayan will have actors Devesh Sharma, Raviz Thakur, Vaibhavi Kapoor etc playing the main roles. The show was very elegantly promoted by ace Bollywood celebrities Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn.

We now hear of actress Harshita Patharia playing the role of Maandvi. Maandvi is known to be the Princess of Videha in Hindu mythology. Maandvi went on to marry Bharata.

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan was created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar.[1] It originally aired between 1987 and 1988 on DD National and it was narrated by Ashok Kumar and the director Ramanand Sagar. It had Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, Sunil Lahiri, Arvind Trivedi etc playing major roles.
