Colors’ Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 has already begun the shoot, and we know the new batch of contestants is currently in Romania shooting for the show and will be there for about a month. The list of contestants is indeed alluring and one of the standout names in that is that of actress Sumona Chakravarti, who is best known for her fiction role in Bade Acche Lagte Hain but more so for her long innings with comedian Kapil Sharma, and the various shows – Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show.

Interestingly this is her first reality show, and in an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz, Chakravarti opened up on how she is prepping herself for the show, what is her go-to mantra and if there are any specific fears to overcome.

How excited are you?

As of now, I am just very excited but yes, when I will do the stunt, I will be very nervous.

What is your go-to mantra for the show?

Like my good friend told me yesterday – ‘fear is not a factor in your life’. I want to live by that and I might even tattoo it (laughs)

KKK is known to have many out there overcome their fears. What is the one fear you would like to overcome?

I don’t have a fear per se. But I love challenging myself now and then. I have done a lot of adventure sports in the past but this is a different ballgame altogether. I feel KKK is like a one-month exam for me where I am going to keep testing myself mentally, physically and so on.

Interviewed by Sweta Gupta

KKK is all about testing yourself as you mentioned and one needs to be calm and composed. In real life, how do you keep yourself calm and composed?

I think I have come to be quite good at that now (laughs). However, all this doesn’t happen overnight and there are habits and practices one needs to follow and keep at it which eventually leads to that calmness. With me, there is a lot, I do yoga, and meditation and last year, I even went to Vipassana, so there were a lot of aspects that I discovered about myself during it. So yes, there are several things I have been doing over the years and hence I guess, KKK is like a litmus test for me to see where I stand.

How have you been preparing yourself for the show? Is there any training physically or otherwise?

I am a very good swimmer and a very good driver. But I feel that swimming in a pool or the sea is entirely different from doing a water stunt. For instance, I love safaris as well but to be doing any stunt with an animal is an entirely different factor. So yes, this challenge is what I am up for and I like pushing myself which is why I am here.
