Bigg Boss 18 is now underway and this time, there is a huge mix of contestants to look forward to as well. One of the names that stood out from the lot is that of Rajat Dalal, a social media influencer and fitness trainer. The man was embroiled in a controversy earlier when a video video about him recklessly driving a speeding SUV went viral. His alleged provocative behavior came into focus at that time.

In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz, Dalal went on to talk about several things ranging from if he is up to talk about and give his take on controversies surrounding him, his real-life friendship with Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant, Lovekesh Kataria and much more.

Q. How did you have the thought to agree to the offer of participating in Bigg Boss 18?

Rajat: I did not have any such thought per se. The makers probably thought about it and as the offer came to me, and I felt it is feasible, so I went on to accept it. I had the offer for Bigg Boss OTT 3 as well but I refused that; this time around, I felt okay to take it up so did that.

Q. Controlling yourself in the house is perhaps the biggest challenge. Have you thought about things like that in terms of what you will have to control and take a step back on if it leads to that?

Rajat: I haven’t thought about that but the only thing I will have to control is that I don’t hit anyone. That will mess things up and the fact that will happen on national TV, it won’t look good. I guess the media and people will defame me if such a case occurs, so that’s about it. Rest, I am not worried about anything.

Q. There have been several controversies pertaining to you outside. Are you ready to face the challenge of talking about it when it is highlighted?

Rajat: What is left to be made into a huge deal already? It has already become a huge thing thanks to the media, who added their own masala and made a mountain out of a molehill. But, I don’t blame them entirely because it is their job. Coming to inside the house, if these things are brought up, they can do it from their side, I don’t want to do any such thing. I am inside the house to stay in it and not talk about the past. If someone does it, it isn’t in my control. I will handle things well. Coming to clarifying about it, I won’t be doing that inside the house because that is a matter outside the house.

Q. Have you seen the previous seasons?

Rajat: Not really and diligently. Came across reels time and again and maybe caught some footage here and there. But courtesy of our busy lives, there isn’t much I have seen.

Q. Have you talked with Lovekesh Kataria, who you are close with and who was a contestant on Bigg Boss OTT 2?

Rajat: My friendship isn’t just with Lovekesh but that is a huge friend circle we have. I haven’t talked about any of this with them though but we are two different people. My perspective towards something and their perspective towards something will be different – so it is all about individuality. So, about talking with Lovekesh about it, it might have been a fleeting conversation but did not specifically highlight it because in Lovekesh’s season, whoever were the contestants, they aren’t the ones coming back – so it is a different thing.

Q. Salman Khan is the beating heart of the show, and without him, there is no Bigg Boss. Are you prepared to be at the receiving end of some schooling if there is a situation like that?

Rajat: For me, Salman Sir will be like my family members. I listen to what my family members have to say and likewise, I will listen to what Salman Sir has to tell me. He is at that stage in his life where he has earned respect and whatever he says will have value. So, that will be the case for me. Rest, I just hope things are well and everyone stays happy.
