After a grueling and action packed 14 days of FWICE strike uproar, finally the agitation has come to an end with the intervention of the Labour Ministry.
IndianWikiMedia on ground reporters inform that the protest ended today morning.
“Yesterday it rained incessantly, affecting the movement. The deadlock seemed never ending. Things were getting nowhere…with people suffering the brunt. Thus, with the intervention of Labour Minister Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar and his assurance that he will look into the matter, the strike has ended,” says a source.
We have been told that the protesting leaders and producer body will meet Sambhaji to explain the issues and look for a possible mid way solution. The meeting is due for tomorrow.
FWICE’s B N Tiwari confirmed the news of the strike ending.
Producer J D Majethia (IFTPC) said,”Yes. they have called off the strike. Rest I cannot comment as have not received any communication from FWICE.”
The workers who went on strike are expected to return to work post the meeting, is what we have been told.
Well, as of now, FWICE strike has ended…for good or bad…time will tell.
