There is no sight of a possible solution to the ongoing FWICE strike which has entered Day 7.
This article will share information on what all happened at ground zero.
After politician Sanjay Nirupam’s intervention and support for the protesters, B N Tiwari (federation head) and team was allowed to cross the gates of Filmcity and talk to the workers, in an attempt to educate them on the agitation, its demands and bring them on the other side of the gate (where protesters are rallying from 16 August).
“The workers did listen to those who are protesting, however shoot is still on. Next, it has been told that whoever is continuing to work, their membership will be annulled. There are some who have disregarded the threat and there are some who in fear and confusion, trying to keep all concerned parties happy by playing the neutral card,” says a source.
As of now, the protesters are continuing with their effort to meet and talk to the workers on the sets and bring them on their side.
In the meanwhile, those who were part of the hunger strike have seen a rapid deterioration of health conditions.
A source shares, “Initially there were eight protesters who went on hunger strike. First four got ill and had to be hospitalized the next day and other four continued. One of them caught dengue. Out of the other four, three got hospitalized today. Out of them one has got back to strike.”
The hunger strike will continue, is what we have been told.
Furthermore, a fight erupted between an art director (protester) and a senior HOP (head of production) today after the two got into a fist fight over some difference of opinion. The HOP is said to be from the Balaji camp. The cops present at the venue doused the fire and did not allow the fight to take shape of mass violence.
It is also being said that the protesters have written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking appointment and possible intervention and help to ensure that demands are met. The plea is yet to be heard.
The deadlock continues and as more information spill in, IndianWikiMedia will keep updating the space.
