IWMBuzz Special: Reel life siblings Parth Samthaan and Pooja Banerjee holiday in Doha, Qatar

We all make vacation plans with our best friends, however, most of the time, these plans get cancelled, ruined or postponed. But Kasautii Zindagii Kay’s Anurag Basu that is Parth Samthaan and Nivedita Basu aka Pooja Banerjee, who are very close friends in real life, are surely giving us some major travel and friendship goals this holiday season. The TV actors were seen slaying the streets of Doha, Qatar with team IWMBUZZ to shoot ‘Kasauti Qatar Ki’ for Aajtak. They romanced and enjoyed the beautiful locations of Qatar in full filmy style in this travel TV series.

From visiting top tourist attractions like Museum of Islamic Arts, Qanat Quartier, The Pearl Souq Waqif, Katara Cultural Village and more, to experiencing mouth-watering Arabic food, the actors spent a gala time in Qatar. Parth and Pooja were traditionally welcomed by the people of the Middle East country with Arabic coffee in one hand and dates on the other. They were fed with love, lots of food and they were provided with best of hospitality by Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC). 

The main highlight was pooja turning into a water baby seeing the grand sea of Qatar. Check out her pics enjoying the sea and desert of Qatar. Bring a national level swimmer Pooja thoroughly enjoyed swimming the blue waters of Doha Qatar.

Not only this; Pooja and Parth, who are playing sister and brother in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, have gone one level-up in their friendship; courtesy the Qatar trip. They have talked endlessly and mindlessly, pulled each-other’s legs and listened to Arabic songs in top-volumes. The proof is Pooja’s warm caption on one of many posts done by her on Instagram. It reads, “#Doha trip has been a great experience for its beauty, but more so because you (Parth) were the travel buddy”.

Sharing a heart-felt moment while experiencing desert safari in Qatar, Pooja said, “Desert visit is incomplete without a camel ride. I had been waiting to do this. It was my childhood desire to be in the desert and get lost in its serene environment. I enjoyed looking at the smooth textured sand, felt the warmth of the sun and took the endless teachings that a desert has to give. #makhtoob they say…it’s all written with the same hand and everything will happen that is meant to happen, may be sooner or later. We just need to believe in it.”

Parth and Pooja shopped till they dropped under the full-moon light at Souq Waqif. They attended the 8th Katara Traditional Dhow Festival and witnessed its highlight – the spectacular fireworks show themed on maritime traditions that illuminated the Katara skyline. They walked beside the colourful townhouses and canals of Qanat Quartier, The Pearl that looks like a part of Venice beamed to Qatar. 

“Had the craziest memories at desert safari and KataraCultural Village. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the vintage style shopping market – Souq Waqif and getting some really authentic Arabic stuff (perfumes, dates etc) from there”, added Pooja. 

Throwing a light at the memorable trip, Parth was quoted as saying, “I had an amazing trip to Qatar. The one thing I loved about this country, is their warm hospitality. There’s so much to explore in this Middle East country – its sky-reaching buildings, culture, infrastructure and most specifically food. Thanks to QNTC, Aaj Tak and IWMBuzz for giving me these memorable moments to cherish”. 

Parth was seen sharing his experience of donning the Qatari traditional clothes (Thobe, Gahfia and Gutra) in the travel show. He could be seen as saying that it feels great to accept a different culture. It is for the first time I am wearing a Qatari dress and this attire is truly boosting my “confidence” and is giving me “a sense of pride”.  During the episode, Parth and Pooja were also seen holding a Falcon – the national bird of Qatar. 

Parth and Pooja Qatar Trip will be seen as a TV series on Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan on Aajtak. The episodes will also stream on IWMBuzz as travel web series.
