Born in Punjab, Kapil Sharma went through a lot of hurdles in his life. To talk some, his father Jeetendra Kumar Punj was a head constable in Punjab police but died in 2004 due to cancer. His mother Janak Rani is a homemaker. He has a brother named Ashok Kumar Sharma and sister Pooja Pawan Devgan. Kapil Sharma did his schooling from Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary School, Amritsar, and studied at Hindu College in Amritsar.

Mr. Sharma came to the light after he won the title of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007 and won an amount of 10 Lakhs. According to the media reports, Kapil moved to Mumbai to become a singer and here he is today, the man who makes money by making people laugh. The Comedy Circus gave Kapil a good start to stardom as he worked for six long seasons.

Being a stand-up comedian, an actor, a host and a producer is not an easy task. Kapil debuted in Bollywood with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. Later, he was also seen in the historic film Firangi. The best phase of his life came in the year 2013 when he launched his show Comedy Nights with Kapil. In the year 2016, he came up with another show, The Kapil Sharma Show. The show was immensely loved by all his fans and it has run off 2 seasons till now. Until now, he kept bagging many awards for his career in the field of comedy.
