Popular TV actor Karanvir Bohra was flying from Vancouver to Bombay with the Airline Cathay Pacific, and he found inappropriate information and representation of Mumbai in the Destinations section in the inflight entertainment. The actor slammed the false projection of the City of Dreams and accused of disrespect and misleading information.

On Monday, 4 November, Karanvir took to his Instagram handle. He revealed that he recently traveled from Vancouver to Bombay with Cathay Pacific and shared feedback on inflight entertainment. He said, ” I recently flew from Vancouver to Bombay with @cathaypacific and wanted to provide some feedback on the “Destinations” section of your inflight entertainment, particularly regarding the portrayal of Mumbai.”

Further, Karanvir slammed the airline for its disrespectful manner of introducing Mumbai in the inflight entertainment. He said, “The introduction to Mumbai could be more respectful and nuanced. Descriptions like “chaotic films,” “ramshackle slums,” and “colonial relics” do not capture the true essence of our city. Mumbai is a vibrant city with rich culture and history @cathaypacific.”

The actor also highlighted disrespecting the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by just denoting him as Gandhi- “The caption for Mahatma Gandhi ji should reflect the respect he holds as the father of our nation. Referring to him simply as “Gandhi” diminishes his legacy. Please address him as “Mahatma Gandhi” to honor his contributions appropriately @cathaypacific.”

Lastly, Karanvir highlighted the misleading content being shared, such as a picture of a daily soap labeled Bollywood. “The image labeled as “Bollywood” is misleading. It’s a scene from a daily soap on TV. Bollywood represents the Hindi film industry, which is distinct in style from television dramas. It would be helpful to use an image that better reflects Bollywood’s true character.”
