Of late, bad luck has become the middle name of TV superstar-turned-film actor, Karan Singh Grover. He has three films in hand, yet something or the other keeps going wrong. He has now broken his foot during the London schedule of his upcoming film Aadat, which also stars better half, Bipasha Basu. Interestingly, few male TV actors, apart from Sushant Singh Rajput, have really crossed over to films.
Karan, who debuted with horror film Alone, has also given a hit, Hate Story 3.
Besides Aadat, which is co-produced by Vikram Bhatt and Mika Singh, KSG, as Karan is known, has Teen Dev (co-starring Ravi Dubey and Kunal Karan Kapoor) and Firrkie (with Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff and K K Menon), both of which have been stuck for a while.
There is no clarity about God-based Teen Dev’s release as of now. After a long delay, it was supposed to come out in July, but that got scuttled due to unknown reasons.
With Aadat finally going on floors in England, for a little while, it appeared that KSG’s career might be on the road to recovery. However, he has now fractured his foot while shooting, which has put him out of action for a minimum of eight weeks. Post-surgery, he is recuperating in a London hospital for a few days.
According to sources, there is one week of Karan’s work in Aadat, which might be wrapped up in Mumbai, as it would not make sense to return to England for just one week.
This compulsory lay off due to his tibia bone fracture might not only push back Aadat, but will also affect the resumption of the already delayed thriller, Firrkie’s shoot.
Firrkie Producer, Vipul Tiwari, acknowledged that Karan’s injury might affect the shoot. “We are waiting for his final medical report, which will come next week to decide the future course of action. Our original plan was to finish the shoot as soon as possible, looking at a March-April release, but now it seems dicey; let’s see. It is not possible to shoot without KSG, as most of the remaining week-long stretch is full of combination shoots.”
When asked about what delayed the film in the first place, he says, “There were a few issues with the London line producer, which have been sorted out. We have been affected financially a bit, so hope to finally complete the film.”
Our sources add that the biggest issue would be getting dates of other actors once KSG is back, especially Neil, who has lots of other stuff on hand, including the upcoming Prabhas (Bahubhali) film, Saaho, in which he is the main villain.
KSG is a very talented actor and it’s no mean feat to have lasted fourteen long years (Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dill Mill Gayye and Qubool Hai) in the arc lights, when several others have come and gone.
We hope that he gets back on his feet quickly, and not only finishes the above projects, but goes on to do much bigger and better work. We want to see him shine on the web as well.
We had also sent a text message to Vikram Bhatt. We did not try to contact KSG as he might still be in hospital.
Speedy recovery, KSG!!
