Indian TV might be known for a lot of things, but progressive ideas are hardly one of them. High on family melodrama, Indian shows and especially parents in Indian shows are hardly ever the epitome of progressive thoughts. Most of them are usually preoccupied with the marriage of their daughters or bother their daughters-in-law. Now, the makers are exploring a mother-child bond on TV.
A mother-child bond is the most beautiful bond in the world and it only grows by the day, in most cases, as the kids get older. Having said that, on TV we are witnessing exactly the opposite of this. Currently, TV shows are showcasing mother and child being each other’s rivals. They are seen standing against each other at every moment. Well, this kind of content is really working and boosting up the TRP.
The number one show on TV Anupamaa is running high on TRP. The credit goes to the content and high drama episodes. In the show, we have been witnessing since the beginning that Anupamaa’s kids Toshu and Pakhi are always against their mother’s decisions. Recently, Pakhi is loving the lavish lifestyle of the Kapadias and is bowled over by Adhik. She wants a future as good as Anupamaa hence she wishes to live in the Kapadia house. However, Anupamaa does not give consent. This is how the fight between the two escalates. This is not the first time that Anupamaa has faced the wrath of her children.
On the other hand, Pushpa Impossible is also witnessing a similar fight between mother Pushpa and daughter Rashi. In the show, after striving hard and selflessly serving the priorities of others, Pushpa aspires to do something for herself. Hoping to pursue the education that she had to give up early in life, she is now determined to fulfill that aspect of her life, by finding her way and convincing everyone that there’s no age for learning. And she embarks on a new journey, and as she goes back to school. However, Pushpa faces backlashes from her own daughter Rashi, who is opposed to her pursuing her aspirations.
Another TV show Appnapan… Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan revolves around the story of an estranged couple – Pallavi and Nikhil who are now single parents and how both face their own challenges of parenting while battling obstacles from their past. In the recent track, viewers have seen Manna and Pallavi seem to be at loggerheads because of Pallavi’s sudden confession of being Manna’s mother. Shocked by this revelation, Manna seems to be hating her mother, blaming Pallavi for her absence in her daughter’s life.
All these popular TV shows are showcasing similar storylines which seems to be working for them in terms of TRP. We hope fans continue loving their shows in the future as well!
