Indian TV show weddings are grand. However, we have often witnessed in shows that a couple marries without their will or consent, and then eventually their story turns into a fairy tale. Hindi TV shows have romanticized forced marriages. Today, we bring you forced marriages of couples that have turned into love stories. Check below!
Imlie: Star Plus show Imlie is one of the popular shows. However, the daily soap doesn’t offer you anything out of the box. In the show, Aditya Tripathi (Gashmeer Mahajani), a journalist from Delhi visits Pagdandiya where he befriends 18-year-old Imlie (Sumbul Touqeer Khan). Aditya is forced to marry her despite having a girlfriend in Delhi when the villagers suspect that they are having an illicit affair after they take shelter in a hut due to heavy rains. And now as the show progressed, they got in love with each other.
Ishqbaaaz: Anika and Shivaay played by Surbhi Chandna and Nakuul Mehta also have a forced marriage. In the plot, Anika runs away from Shivaay. However, he catches hold of her and threatens to tell Gauri that her mother is a mistress and alive. Anika begs him not to do so. Shivaay tells her if she doesn’t want him to reveal anything to Gauri, then she has to get married to him. When Anika doesn’t say anything, Shivaay calls Gauri and asks her to come to the temple. Gauri rushes from home and reaches the Shiv Mandir. A helpless Anika is left with no option but to marry Shivaay. However, post their marriage, they come close to each other and fall in love.
Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon: Khushi and Arnav played by Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti were loved by the audience and still remain to be one of the telly world’s most loved Jodis of all time. In the story, Arnav brings Khushi home after marrying her at the Devi Maiya temple. The reason that he dragged her into marrying him is that he did not want Shyam to get close to her. Little did Arnav know that his possessiveness was all due to his deep love for Khushi. Later, their love story turns iconic. We still miss this jodi!
Pratigya: Pratigya and Krishna essayed by Pooja Gor and Arhaan Behll had one of the best on-screen weddings on TV, However, the purpose of Pratigya’s marriage with Krishna is to fight against the injustice that has been happening with her family and to teach Krishna and his family a lesson. Later, Pratigya falls in love with Krishna and their revengeful story turns into a fairy tale love story.
Meet: Zee TV’s latest show Meet also has a similar plotline. In the story, Meet Ahlawat gears up for his wedding with Meet Hooda’s sister Manushi. However, she runs away from the mandap and Meet Ahlawat is forced to marry Meet Hooda. Although it was a forced marriage, currently, Meet Ahlawat and Meet Hooda are coming close to each other and we are sure fans are waiting for their big proposal day, what say folks?
