Indianwikimedia earlier in the day published the news of Bollywood star Sanjay Kapoor, brother of Anil Kapoor, making a splash in the world of Indian television with an upcoming show on Star Plus, an adaptation of the Turkish show ‘Ask-i-memmu’ which will be all about forbidden love, a May-December romance.
Vikram Bhatt as we know will be the show runner for this Sidharth Sengupta and Jyoti Sagar’s Edgestorm Productions show.
As per sources, “The show has been approved and the planning for shoot is presently underway. The team will in all likelihood start shoot in May.”
Furthermore, there were reports about Simone Singh being signed to play a powerful motherly role opposite Sanjay’s character.
Simone did shoot for the pilot, however, things did not shape up and now as per sources, Niki Aneja Walia has been brought in as the replacement.
“Simone is a fabulous actress but Niki fit the bill to the T. Hence, the development,” shared a source.
We buzzed Producer Sidharth Sengupta and the channel spokesperson, but did not hear from them.
Niki remained unavailable for a comment.
She is a renowned face and has acted in popular shows like Astitva; Ek Prem Kahani, Ghar Ek Sapna, Dastaan among others.
