One would think that Kapil Sharma’s popular show would be an ideal landing place for the cast of Anurag Basu’s Ludo. Considering how desperately Basu needs a hit(after the thundering debacle of Jagga Jasoos ,Ludo is his first project) the film needs optimum exposure.
Ludo would have been Kapil’s Diwali special. But alas, not everyone was on the same page on this.
Reveals a source from the Ludo cast, “Ludo was to be the Diwali special on The Kapil Sharma Show. The entire cast was all for it, except one actor whose dates were not available for Kapil’s show.”
Apparently, Rajkummar Rao was the one actor whose days are booked elsewhere and he couldn’t be present for the Kapil Sharma Show.
Says the source, “Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Sheikh and all others in cast were game for Kapil’s show. They were excited as this was going to be the Diwali special. But when Rajkummar Rao expressed his inability to be on present for the recording, the team decided to drop its appearance on Kapil’s show.”
It’s all or nothing for the Ludo team. And Kudo to Ludo. we really appreciate the team spirit of the cast.Every actor in Ludo has his own track . There was never a sense of rivalry. Abhishek, Rajkummar and Aditya became close friends during the shooting.
